SYNOPSIS:
In late September 1849, Edgar Allan Poe was travelling home to New York from Richmond, Virginia. He never made it. He was discovered incoherent on a Baltimore street. For three days he lay in a hospital, slipping in and out of delirium, where he died on October 7th. To this day, the circumstances of his death remain one of the great mysteries of literature and history. Award-winning filmmaker Mark Redfield mixes the events of the author’s last days, both real and imaginary, with imagery and sounds from Poe’s stories and poems, to create a surreal, dream-like chronicle of Poe’s final journey into madness and fear.
